How to Download SoundCloud Tracks and Playlists as MP3

SoundCloud is home to millions of independent artists, DJ mixes, remixes and podcasts that you won't find on other streaming services. The app's offline mode only works with a Go+ subscription and only inside the app. Saving an MP3 lets you play a mix in your car, load a track into DJ software, or keep it if the artist removes it.

Step by step: SoundCloud to MP3

1. 1On SoundCloud, click Share under the track and copy the link.
2. 2Go to tools.zenwebx.com/soundcloud-downloader and paste it.
3. 3Click Fetch. The track title, artist and artwork appear.
4. 4Click Get next to MP3 and then Download. The file is named "Artist - Title.mp3".
5. 5Optional: click Get next to Artwork to save the 500×500 cover image.

Downloading a whole playlist or album

Paste a playlist or album link (it contains /sets/ in the URL) and every downloadable track is listed in order, up to 50 tracks. Download the ones you want one by one — each gets its own properly named MP3.

What quality do you get?

You get a 128 kbps MP3 — exactly what SoundCloud streams to free listeners. For most listening on phones, earbuds and car stereos, 128 kbps MP3 is perfectly fine. Higher-quality AAC streams are reserved for paying Go+ subscribers and are protected, so they are not downloaded.

Tracks that can't be downloaded

• Go+ exclusives — these only play a 30-second preview to free listeners.
• Tracks with encrypted (protected) streams.
• Private tracks, unless you have the artist's secret link.
• Tracks blocked in your region.

Tidying up your MP3s

DJ mixes often have long intros or applause at the end. The Audio Trimmer cuts them off in seconds without re-encoding, and the Audio Merger joins several tracks into one continuous file.

Respect the artists

Most music on SoundCloud is copyrighted even when it's free to stream. Download your own uploads, tracks the artist has made available for free, or Creative Commons music. If you love an artist's work, follow them and buy their releases — that's what keeps SoundCloud's independent scene alive.
