Twitch clips are the fastest way to capture a great moment from a stream — but they live on Twitch. If you want to post a clip to YouTube Shorts, TikTok or Instagram, make a compilation, or simply keep it in case it gets deleted, you need the MP4 file.
Step by step: Twitch clip to MP4
- 1Open the clip on Twitch and click Share → Copy link.
- 2Go to tools.zenwebx.com/twitch-clip-downloader and paste the link.
- 3Click Fetch. The clip title, channel and length appear.
- 4Click Get next to the resolution you want, then click Download.
Both link styles work: clips.twitch.tv/<ClipName> and twitch.tv/<channel>/clip/<ClipName>.
Choosing a resolution

A clip can only be as sharp as the stream it came from. If the streamer broadcast in 720p, 720p is the top option. Frame rates above 30 fps are shown in the label (for example 720p60).
Turning a clip into a vertical short
Twitch clips are 16:9. For Shorts or TikTok you'll want 9:16. Download the 1080p version so you have enough resolution left after cropping, then trim it to the best few seconds with the Video Trimmer before cropping in your editor of choice.
What about full VODs?
This tool downloads clips only. Full past broadcasts (VODs) can be hours long and are streamed in thousands of small pieces, which is much better handled by desktop software. A simple workaround: create a clip of the part you need on Twitch (up to 60 seconds), then download that clip here.
Respecting streamers
Clips of your own stream are yours to reuse. If you're downloading another streamer's clip for a compilation, credit the channel clearly — most streamers welcome it, but some prefer to be asked first.
