Royalty-free tracks and loops are often short — 15, 30 or 60 seconds. Videos are usually longer. Rather than hunting for a longer track, you can loop the music so it runs from your chosen start point all the way to the end of the video.
How looping works in Add Audio to Video
- 1Add your video and the music track.
- 2Select the part of the track that should repeat with the waveform handles.
- 3Choose "Loop to fill". The timeline shows the first copy as a solid block and every repeat as a dashed block, right up to the end of the video.
- 4Turn on "Fade out over the last 2 seconds" so the music ends smoothly instead of cutting mid-bar.
Making the loop seamless
A loop sounds seamless when the end of your selection flows naturally back into its start. Some practical tips:
- Select whole bars. Start your selection on a strong beat and end it just before the same beat a few bars later.
- Avoid selecting parts with vocals or a melody that resolves — repetitive instrumental sections loop best.
- Use "Play selection" and listen to the end of the clip: if it feels like it wants to continue into the start, it will loop well.
- If you hear a click at the loop point, move one handle by a fraction of a second (type the time in the From/To boxes).
Tracks sold as "loops" are cut to repeat perfectly. Select the whole file and choose Loop to fill — no fine-tuning needed.
When to play once instead
Not everything should loop. A song with a clear ending, a jingle at the start of a video, or a sound effect timed to one moment should play once. Choose "Play once" and drag the block to the right moment — after it finishes, the rest of the video is silent or keeps its original sound.
Starting the music later
Loops don't have to start at 0:00. Drag the audio block to start the music after an intro or when the action begins. Everything before the block stays silent (or keeps the original sound if you chose Keep & mix), and the loop runs from that point to the end.
Want a looping video too?
If it's the video that's too short rather than the music, use the Video Looper to repeat the clip first, then add the soundtrack here.
